The advancement of technology in the workplace has put pressure on professionals to adapt to changes by developing their knowledge and skills. One of the best ways to improve employee knowledge and skills is through training. Providing relevant and consistent training to employees can help improve performance and efficiency throughout the workplace.

In this article, we'll explain the importance of employee training and outline 5 potential benefits.

What is the importance of trainings?

Providing your employees with trainings shows them that they are valued and their company is investing in them. If you continue to teach your employees new skills and abilities, not only will they become better workers, but they will feel like more productive members of the organization. That way you are improving both their skills and their morale.

It also leads to improving IT and computer skills. Training programmes help employees acquire specific computer skills and learn about IT subjects, such as how to use software systems and applications. Companies can train their employees in creating graphs and spreadsheets, modifying data in databases, and understanding network designs to gain a more comprehensive understanding of computers, which in turn helps increase efficiency in the workplace

Benefits of trainings

1. Increased productivity and performance – when employees receive trainings, it improves their skills and knowledge of the job and boosts confidence in their own abilities. This will, among other things, improve their performance and make them more efficient.

2. Reduced need for supervision – although employee training should not completely replace supervision, it can significantly reduce the need for excessive oversight in the workplace.

3. Internal promotions – when an organisation needs professionals with new or specific skills, it doesn‘t necessarily have to go to the labour market and recruit external professionals. They can look inside the organization and select potential employees who can be promoted once they have been trained and have acquired the necessary new skill set.

4. Better morale – when an employee completes a training programme, it will give them a sense of being a part of a supportive work environment where they are valued, which will boost their morale and enable them to approach their duties with greater confidence.

5. Improved and updated technology –  with constant technological changes across all industries, familiarizing employees with what’s new in advanced technology will help increase your organisation‘s efficiency and productivity.

A Modern Take on Trainings

Hybrid way of learning – the pandemic has forced many companies to adapt to the new situation and taught us how to work online. That's why we also decided to go hybrid. This way, companies don't have to rely exclusively on on-premises training and can do it online as well.

Our GTTs (GOPAS Telepresence Trainings) take place in specially adapted classrooms. An instructor and several participants are present and the course is conducted as usual in a physical classroom. But there is also a so-called "Telepresence Classroom (GTT)", where other trainees participate online while connected to the physical classroom by Cisco videoconferencing technology with a two-way high-quality video and audio transmission. The result is a learning experience that is no different in its interactivity and quality from that of a single classroom. For more information on GTT learning, watch our short video.
